Train to Busan is a 2016 Korean zombie movie about a father and daughter who board a train while, unbekownst to everyone, a zombie epidemic has broken out that will test the passengers will to survive.
The first thing I noticed about this movie was how bright and colorful the scenery was; you rarely get a zombie movie that is as vivid as this one. The action was way over the top, from the fights to the chases, everything has the feel of an action movie rather than a horror movie. The strained relationship between father, Seok-Woo and daughter, Soo-An is well-developed and really sets the table for some truly emotional scenes as the movie progresses. The run time is a little long clocking in at nearly 2 hours but the movie keeps moving and it doesn’t feel too long. For this being a zombie movie the blood and guts were minimal, so don’t come in expecting a non-stop bloodbath.
I highly recommend this movie. Definitely give this a watch if you are looking for a fun, over the top, fresh look at the zombie genre that keeps the action fast-paced yet still takes time to hit ya right in the feels from time to time.
