Review of Shaolin Cowboy by Geof Darrow: Graphic Novel (’04-’18)

What do you need to know about Shaolin Cowboy series? Well, there’s not much to it, and there doesn’t need to be. The text blocks at the beginning are Mel Brooksian MAD Magazine swill. Get through them- or hell, just skip it until you see our guy walking through the desert. Here we go! The remaining 4/5ths of these books are delightful zombie dismemberment by a very apt and agile chainsaw samurai. And, welp! That’s all there is to her! This book delivers (maybe over-delivers) exactly what you’d pick it up for based on the title and covers alone. The art is pretty, the action is fluid, but yeah, that writing at the beginning is mainly Asian name puns. So, something for everyone? NOPE! But boy howdy does it scratch an itch!
